We had the privilege to work as a wedding babysitter at Rathsallagh House, so let me walk you through how we set up a fantastic playroom for children attending weddings:
First things first, we scout out the perfect spot for our playroom. It’s gotta be spacious, well-lit, and ideally tucked away enough to contain the kiddie chaos while still being easily accessible for parents.
Once we’ve found the spot, it’s time to deck it out! We go all out with colourful decorations, balloons, and banners that match the wedding theme. We want the room to feel like a magical playground where kids can let their imaginations run wild.
Next, we lay down soft rugs or mats to create a comfy space for the little ones to sit and play. We also set up pint-sized tables and chairs where they can gather for arts and crafts or snack time.
Now, onto the fun stuff – toys galore! We carefully select a mix of toys and games to cater to kids of all ages and interests. From building blocks and puzzles to dolls and board games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Our arts and crafts station is always a hit! We stock it with crayons, markers, colouring books, stickers, and all sorts of crafty goodies. Watching the kids get creative and make their masterpieces is always a highlight.
Of course, we can’t forget about interactive activities! Whether it’s storytelling sessions, puppet shows, or impromptu dance parties, we’re always coming up with new ways to keep the kids entertained and engaged.
We also helped the children and supervised their meals apart from the main celebration.
Throughout it all, we’re there to supervise and ensure that the children are safe and having a blast. Our goal is to create a playroom that’s not just fun, but also a special place where kids can make memories and friendships that last long after the wedding day is over.
